Paola246
The talk of Belgian Blogger-town was a new site by a young lady called Paola. She stormed into the blogosphere with all the usual weapons: blog, myspace, twitter, youtube and Flickr. Some high-rated flemish bloggers launched her by dropping her name on twitter or linking to her on their blog which started the buzz.
Since she was good looking and that it sounded like she had some speech-training, a lot of people were reminded of Lonelygirl15, a series of youtube movies of a girl called Bree which was revealed by the New York Times as staged by a filmmaker looking for some fame.
After a week, 2 Flemish bloggers (Luc Van Braekel and Robin Wauters) found out who was behind it, so the creators were forced to come out quite early. Paola246 appeared to be an experiment of HetPaleis, a Flemish youth theater. They wanted to create an interactive play and how the online world could be used for such a production. The complete press-release (in Dutch) can be read here. The production was in collaboration with K&L and CHIPS VZW.
Check out the buzz in Dutch.
